“Can I Play Too?”

Our new Puppet Presentation Program Can I Play Too? Is a unique and innovative autism demystification/educational program designed to foster social inclusion, play and friendships for children on the autism spectrum (and related social communication needs) ages 3 through 11. The program fosters understand, acceptance and empathy towards individuals on the autism spectrum while introducing prosocial communication strategies to enhance peer social relations.

 

→ Puppet Presentation Program Learning Opportunities

Each 45- minute Puppet Presentation Program is designed with specific learning goals and prosocial communication strategies that work to foster social relationships between children on the autism spectrum and their peers. The program includes 6 learning opportunities designed to engage diverse learners in schools, preschools or daycares or other community settings.

  1. Introduction → Introduction to program and program guides and assigned observer
  2. Puppet Play → Visual/auditory learning opportunity
  3. What Did Roger Learn? → Visual/auditory review of learning goals
  4. Pass the Puppet Circle → Tactile review of the learning goals
  5. Questions and Answers → Open dialogue
  6. Stickers → Transfer training/tangible reward for participation

Follow-Up: Following the program each educator/adult will receive copies of the Friend 2 Friend Follow-up resource materials.


Friend 2 Friend provides inclusive autism demystification programs. We encourage the participation of individuals on the autism spectrum whenever possible. The word "autism" is mentioned in a sensitive and respectful manner as it pertains to the individuals who are profiled in the program only, no other individual with autism is single out or identified in any manner.
