Our new online Early Childhood and the Autism Spectrum Course offers participants a step by step guide for implementing peer play and friendship activities at preschool, daycare and home. A self-directed online course specially designed for early childhood educators and parents of young children with autism ages 3 through 7.

Course Overview

Friend 2 Friend Social Learning Society’s Early Childhood and the Autism Spectrum Online Course is a professional development, specially designed for Early Childhood Educators and parents of young children with and without autism ages 3 to 7. 

A three-module course designed to support participants to gain a better understanding of the peer play and friendship needs of young children with autism. Using an interactive learning environment and real-life case studies, video instruction and interactive activities to support the participant’s capacity to create affinity-based, peer play and friendship activities.

Course Learning Objectives

 

Early Childhood and the Autism Spectrum learning objects are to prepare participants to:

  • Identify the challenges young children face in playing and making friends.
  • Understand the Critical Success Factors for supporting peer play and friendships.
  • Apply the tools provided in the development of affinity-based peer play and friendship activities for young children.
